A Residential Interior Renovation in Gurgaon
A Residential Interior Renovation in Gurgaon
This renovation project in a villa in DLF Phase 1 focused on transforming a previously dark and heavy interior into a brighter, more open living environment. The existing ceilings and air-conditioning layout created a sense of visual heaviness and limited comfort, prompting the client to shift to a VRV air-conditioning system.
The design approach aimed to open up the space, introduce warmth and colour, and bring in subtle Indian design elements while maintaining a calm and contemporary residential interior.

The design approach aimed to open up the space, introduce warmth and colour, and bring in subtle Indian design elements while maintaining a calm and contemporary residential interior.
The project involved redesigning multiple areas of the home including the living room, entry foyer, dining area, bedrooms, study and backyard for a family of three generations.
The client wanted the home to feel larger, brighter and more welcoming, with colours and materials that blend harmoniously across spaces. Introducing arches, thoughtful detailing and soft lighting through lamps was an important part of the brief to create a warm, Indian-inspired atmosphere while keeping the interiors modern and balanced.
The renovated villa now feels brighter, larger and far more spacious. Architectural elements such as arches and mouldings add character, while textured paints and wallpapers create depth and warmth throughout the interiors.
The existing mandir ceiling was enhanced using terracotta plates paired with filament lights, adding a traditional yet artistic touch. In the backyard, terracotta and printed tiles were introduced to transform what was previously an unused space into a functional outdoor area, with dedicated space for generators and services.
Since the home sits on a corner plot along a main road, DG glass was installed to improve insulation, reduce outside noise and allow proper ventilation. The new false ceiling and upgraded VRV air-conditioning system significantly improved lighting quality and cooling performance across the house.
Additional upgrades include a sintered stone sheet (stone laminate) main door with a biometric door lock system, automation-enabled lighting in the living room, and structural correction of an uneven corner in the living area. By modifying the existing wall to create a rectangular layout, the room now feels visually balanced, with the corrected corner thoughtfully utilised for a decorative feature.
The result is a villa renovation that feels calm, bright and deeply rooted in Indian design sensibilities while delivering modern comfort and functionality
